Growing up in the jewel of the North coast of British Columbia, Prince Rupert, I knew from a young age I wanted to be a teacher. My path to this started with the completion of my Bachelor of Art degree from the University of Northern British Columbia, majoring in English and minoring in Psychology.
From there I obtained my Bachelor of Education from Vancouver Island University. It was during my final practicum at this time when I realized my passion in the field of special education, namely working with students who are d/Deaf and hard of hearing.
Two short years after this I began my work towards obtaining my Master of Education in Special Education: Deaf and Hard of Hearing from the University of British Columbia, graduating in 2013. During this year I began working for the Richmond school district as a Hearing Resource Teacher (Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing), increasing my knowledge and experience in working with these exceptional students. Most recently, I have felt the call to return to my hometown and currently reside once again in Prince Rupert, B.C.
